Follow the Fish Art and Adventure Trail is an inspired public art and marketing campaign for Lorain County started in 2012, and moving on enthusiastically in 2014, connecting public art to local businesses. From May through October, schools of artistically painted fish are swimming in the wind, leading residents and visitors to experience Lorain County and its local merchants, restaurants, recreation, parks and beaches, special events, festivals, and more.
Conceived and led by artists, business and community leaders, this award winning project celebrates our unique communities, businesses, and natural environment, creatively connecting them to art and artists who live and work in Lorain County.
Follow the Fish!
Find and enjoy some of our 80 kinetic fish sculptures, designed by North Ridgeville artist Jim Gundlach and painted by other Lorain County artists and art students. They are swimming in the wind from Lake Erie’s shores and throughout the county… to some of the finest locally owned businesses, merchants, eateries, organizations, and locales in Amherst, Avon, Avon Lake, Elyria, Lorain, North Ridgeville, Oberlin, Vermilion, and Wellington.
Get hooked on local art and local businesses, and celebrate the natural wonder that surrounds us. “Follow the Fish” to “Art and Adventure!“ We promise that you won’t be disappointed!
